Jessica has been working with dogs for the past 15 years. It started with her first dog; a German Shepherd who had behavioral issues that led him to become unpredictable around other dogs. But through him, Jessica was introduced into the world of dog training and Protection Sports.
Jessica trained in PSA (Protection Sports Association) for 2 years and trained and competed in French Ring Sport for 7 years. A little bit about protection sports is they require a high level of off-leash control in obedience, bitework and connection with the dogs. Jessica also spent 4 years with Joe Dickinson at Dog Training 360, interning and completing her Dog Trainer’s Course.
The connection Jessica shares with her own dogs is part of the reason she started training. The connection with our dogs is amazing and she shares and helps others build connections with their own dogs. Jessica wants to see people and their dogs be successful in whatever their goals may be and to thrive with each other.
She enjoys educating on dog behavior, the concepts behind what we as people do and how it can create unwanted behaviors or simply effect our dogs.
She finds it the most rewarding helping dogs and owners be successful whether its being successful with their goals, obedience, building confidence, connection or behavioral modification.
Jessica’s philosophy is not one technique or tool fits all. She utilizes various techniques and tools that fit the dog best to help them be successful. Jessica is patient and works with dogs at their own pace before moving on to the next step.
